Our Purpose
Isolation & loneliness can be a crushing feeling which no-one should have to endure for any prolonged periods. It can lead to serious depression and loss of confidence and overall ill health. Loneliness and isolation can be caused by many factors, and it is well known that those most susceptible are citizens beyond a certain age. It can be due to having no family living in the area or perhaps the recent loss of a spouse.
Illnesses can be debilitating and when people have no immediate family, they can very quickly become cut off or forgotten about. Our NHS is already stretched and the community care organisations are under increasing pressure to deliver more. Access to services designed to help senior citizens often becomes difficult as the organisations themselves have to cut back further to be able to survive.
